Mr. Musa Lawal, who is reportedly a member of the Nigerian Navy, was taken hostage in Lokoja, the capital of Kogi State, at around 8 p.m. on Monday. Kidnappers have demanded N3 million in exchange for Mr. Lawal’s release.
Lawal, who is reportedly assigned to Naval Headquarters Abuja, was abducted at his home in Lokoja’s Post Flood Housing Estate.
His home’s doors and windows were smashed by the armed robbers in order for them to gain entry.
Musa was reportedly scheduled to leave for his station in Abuja on Tuesday morning when the gunmen attacked. The kidnappers contacted an hour after the abduction and demanded a 3 million naira ransom.
As she described her ordeal, the victim’s traumatized wife Juliana mentioned that one of her husband’s hands was slashed and he was bleeding when the gunmen took him away.
